Open Letter to François Tremblay

I’d post this on your blog, but that’s more of a team blog, and I’d hate to draw more people into this than necessary.

Dear Mr. Tremblay,
Over the past few days you’ve posted some very thought out comments on my blog (here, here, and here). Just as often, however, you post comments that attack me viciously for my beliefs (“Raising a child as a vegan is child abuse, malnutrition. I can’t believe you would post this on a public blog and not apologize. Forget about me hanging around on this blog, you’re a disgusting fuck.
Disgusting child abuser, it’s people like you that make me want to convert to Christianity, for the brute satisfaction of condemning you to Hell. I just wish that one day you’ll realize how disgusting and wrong your feelings were, and that children do not deserve to be subjected to hardship because of your beliefs. Please never have children.
Your beliefs are just like those of anti-immunization crackpots, who believe that their children should be subjected to illness and death because of their beliefs. Malnutrition and death has resulted from young children being subjected to a vegan diet. Remove yourself from the gene pool now before you subject another human being to suffering because of your beleifs, sicko“).

Now, what amuses me is that in your blog, you state, “To me, the main thing that this blog so far has been highlighting is the giant gap between Christians and atheists in terms of ability to understand order,” yet when I try to reasonably explain my point of view, you just repeat the attacks.

Please, stop. If you’d care to discuss the merits of a vegan diet versus others, lets. If you’d care to discuss how young kids have different dietary needs, lets. If you would like to agree to disagree and stop arguing over this particular issue, lets. But this constant attacking is not logical, it’s not philosophical, and it’s not intelligent. I like my blog to be positive, entertaining, light-hearted, and intelligent at times. I don’t like to resort to vicious arguments (the little kid kind, not the philosophical ones).

The choice is yours. I won’t delete anything you post (indeed I don’t delete anything but shameless advertising, gosh how I hate that), but if I will respond if I feel your comment needs one. Let me know.

Love,
Pixelation Qyw Styx.

Update (3/11/5): Go here, here, here, here, here, here, and here for the latest in this saga. It seems as if this war isn’t as over as I thought it was…
