Gordon called me once, a few years after he’d left New Mexico. He said he was in the area and that we should hang out. I agreed, but neither of us took the initiative and nothing ever came of it.
A few months ago, I decided I was going to move up to Seattle, Washington. It occurred to me that Gordon might have come back to the state and I should find a way to track him down. Enter Myspace. Although I’d never been able to figure out the infernal ‘search’ function before, I figured it out then. I sent a message to Gordon…
A few weeks later, Gordon responded. Then, when I finally moved up here, I sent him another message and included my phone number.
Today, Saturday February 23, after way too long and an exposition that lasted four verbose posts, I’m finally going to see Gordon again. I’ll let you know how it goes.
