37. I only applied to one college after high school, because I knew I wouldn’t be able to afford anything other than a state school. I also applied to only one scholarship. Luckily, I got it and didn’t have to pay for any college. I’m beginning to think I maybe could have done that elsewhere…
So, apparently I’m rated E for Excellent. It’s my first ever blogging award. I don’t know what to say. I should probably have prepared an acceptance speech. Since I did not, I’ll use Jean-Paul Sartre’s rejection speech of his 1964 Nobel Prize for Literature.
It is not the same thing if I sign Jean-Paul Sartre or if I sign Jean-Paul Sartre, Nobel Prize winner. A writer must refuse to allow himself to be transformed into an institution, even if it takes place in the most honorable form
pwnd!
To which the Nobel Prize committee Responded with:
The laureate let it be known that he did not wish to accept the prize, but the fact of his declining this distinction naturally in no way modifies the validity of the award.
Counter-pwnd!
So, what I mean to say is:
it is not the same thing if I sign Pixel Q. Styx or if I sign Pixel Q. Styx, Most Excellent Blogger. A writer must be shown to be excellent, even if it comes in the form of an honorable meme.
In other words: I accept!
W00t!
You deserve it! Congrats! It’s almost as good as getting that shirt that says “Dr. Carlos” on it. 😀
