Harry Potter, Napoleon Dynamite, Hank Hill, Eliza Thornberry, Peter Griffin, and Dexter.
That is all, and most of them are cartoon characters or aimed at little kids.
Find me another main character in anything that wears glasses and keeps them on for the majority of the plot-line (and no Superman stuff: he takes off his glasses to become ‘cool.’ The only taking off I mean is when they fall off, the character goes to sleep, or when s/he takes a shower).
This kind of stuff drives me nuts… 60% of the population needs glasses. SIXTY PERCENT! That’s the majority, people. Yet, we’re almost completely unrepresented in fiction.
Now, according to my running tab, I only owe a shiny dollar to either Anon. Drew or Anon. Erica. Prolly both or half each. But, if you can think of a character that I missed, I’ll add you to the tally.
So if you can think of:
1) A fictional (or fictionalized) character who
2) is the central (or ‘a’ central) character and
3) wears glasses but
4) doesn’t take them off unnecessarily and
5) is fairly well known, then
O) I’ll give you a shiny dollar.
